NEW ZEALAND RALLY - 2nd LEG

Sergio Lopez-Fombona and Guifré Pujol have continued to race with a positive frame of mind during the second stage of the New Zealand Rally. Sergio continues his learning experience and has improved his times since those of yesterday which has enabled him to move up to 11th place in the Group N classification. This pleasing performance of Sergio has been aided by the perfect operation of his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII which is looked after by Calm Competició.

Sergio Lopez-Fombona also has pluckily defended his aim, to continue accumulating, section by section, whatever new knowledge he can. In spite of his lack of experience on this type of dusty surface the Asturian driver has shown a good turn of speed and has not been intimidated by the special difficulties of the stages. Amongst the problem Sergio faces are the vertiginous changes in altitude as well as the very slippery gravel surface to be found on the edges of the tracks. Sergio is currently in 11th place in his class, a position that will allow him to continue making positive progress tomorrow.
