MEXICAN RALLY - DAY 1

It was a difficult start for Sergio, the car stopped on the first stage after crossing a river due to the electrics getting wet. Even though he managed to fire up the car again, the engine misfired to the end of the stage. In total more than ten minutes were lost which placed him dead last in the production class. The Calm Competició mechanics checked the car in the service park and confirmed that it was the waterlogged electrics that were causing all the problems.

For the second group of stages, the tyres of the Lancer were "cut" to improve directionability. This small change had a positive effect and Sergio scored a respectable 10th fastest time at the third stage, but bad luck struck again when Sergio, during the fourth (and last) stage of the day, had an off damaging a rear wheel and losing several minutes. A downpour made the stage fairly slippery catching the Asturian driver by surprise.
